Scammers have sent WhatsApp messages and emails impersonating Linklaters partners, instructing recipients to follow instructions regarding a supposed acquisition. The emails use the domain @linklaters-paris.com and misuse the names of genuine partners from the real firm.

“Cloning” means they copy a real law firm’s website, or identity, sometimes verbatim. To the untrained eye, the copy can look as real as the genuine website they are copying.
